FIR against Trident Hotel in Bhubaneswar for shielding PK Iyer

The Commissionerate Police has lodged a FIR against Hotel Trident in Jayadev Vihar area of Bhubaneswar for providing accommodation to Deccan Chronicle Group’s Vice Chairman PK Iyer for almost a month.

PK Iyer, who is the key accused in Rs 357 crore bank fraud scam in Hyderabad, was hiding in Trident Hotel, using a fake identity. The cops believe that the hotel management conspired with Iyer to protect him.

Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi confirmed the news and said that it might be a criminal conspiracy hatched by the Hotel Trident management. A probe has been ordered, which will unravel the truth. The DCP wondered how the hotel staff failed to verify information about a person and allowed him to stay for several weeks.

Iyer was staying in Room No 220 of Trident Hotel under the assumed name of Chitra Athwani since May 17.
