First Dongaria Kondh woman to get Passport in Odisha

ONI Bureau: First of its kind in Dongaria Kondh community, a woman of a primitive tribal group has become the first person to be issued a passport.

Reportedly, Dinja Jakesika of Kurli in Rayagada district will travel to Indonesia to attend the first International Indigenous Film Festival (IIFF) at Bali which will be held on January 26-28. Earlier, she was awarded Outstanding Women Panchayat Leaders in 2016.

IIFF is an annual film festival organised by Indigenous Film Archive that highlight the culture, lifestyle and struggle of indigenous people around the world.
