First flight takes off from Veer Surendra Sai Airport in Jharsuguda

ONI Bureau:  First flight from Veer Surendra Sai (VSS) Airport in Jharsuguda took off today, after inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi under the regional air connectivity scheme UDAN.

Carrying 10 passengers including four divyang children, Air Odisha flight took off from VSS Airport to Raipur at 1.30 pm today.

The flight services from Jharsuguda will be operated six days in a week excluding Sunday. However regular flight services will be commenced from September 24.

It is to be noted that Air Odisha started its flight services from the Jharsuguda airport under the Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik (UDAN) scheme.
