Forest fire destroys 1600 hectares this year

Forest and environment minister Bikram Keshari Arukha, told the state assembly that around 1578 hectare forest was affected by fire this year. Forest blaze affected more than 7800 hectare in the state in past seven years since 2010.

The fire incidents in Kuldha Sentury in Balasore district and Satkosia sanctuary in Angul district not only damaged useful medicated trees, big old trees but also a biggest threat to wild life now.

These two areas only bear 100 acres of forest land, later caught fire. Due to heavy wind and heat wave forest fires had occured.
