Forest Fire in Kuldiha, SatkosiaThe Kuldha Sentury in Balasore district is burning in fire from last 3 days. Heat wave and raise of mercury causes forest fire in sanctuaries, damaged useful medicated trees, big old trees. Now it’s threatening to wild life like Elephants.

While the forest department staffs with the help of sabuja bahini staffs tried to control the blaze but didn’t succeed yet.

The Pampasar, Purunakote, Tikarapara, Jilinda and other ranges of the Satkosia sanctuary in Angul district, which is known for its Tiger Reserve are also on fire.

SPF of the Satkosia Wildlife division Suvendu Behera informed that the forest department have deployed fire fighting squads at all places affected by fire.

Around 100 acres of forest land has caught fire. Due to heavy wind, they have not been able to control the fire as it is spreading to other areas, sources said.
