Former IAS officer Aparajita Sarangi joins BJP

ONI Bureau:  Former Odisha-cadre IAS officer Aparajita Sarangi formally joined BJP today at party’s national president Amit Shah’s residence in New Delhi.

Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, BJP State chief Basant Panda and BJP State In-Charge Arun Singh were present during the induction of Sarangi into the saffron party.

It is to be noted that Aparajita Sarangi, a 1994-batch Odisha Cadre IAS Officer was on central deputation since 2013. She took voluntary retirement recently to start her new journey.

She will come to Odisha on Thursday and will be accorded a grand welcome in Bhubaneswar.

Sarangi might contest the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha seat on a BJP ticket.

While talking to media persons, Aparajita Sarangi said, “In India there is no other party except BJP which is working towards development. The main focus of BJP is development, development and development and party’s motto & leader made me choose BJP”.
