GA Dept in Odisha questions Governor on Aircraft/Chopper Bills

ONI Bureau:  The General Administration department in Odisha sought a clarification from the newly appointed Governor Ganeshi Lal regarding aircraft and chopper expenses amounting to nearly Rs 46 lakh.

Reportedly, the Governor Professor Ganeshi Lal has spent Rs 46,18,000 to take private jet aircraft and helicopter during his visit from Bhubaneswar to New Delhi on June 10 and back from New Delhi to Bhubaneswar on June 13 and another bill of Rs 5,00,000 towards use of chopper from New Delhi to Sirsa in Haryana on June 10.

“It may be kindly intimated the reason and circumstances for hiring of a helicopter for use of Governor and deviation in the approved schedule of the flight and whether approval of the competent authority has been taken for the purpose or not,” the letter said.

In the letter, Deputy Secretary to Odisha Government, Indira Behera also requested the Special Secretary to Governor to sign the necessary user’s certificate and return the same for further necessary action on part of the State Government.
