Govt announce Scholarship to promote Odia Language

OdishaIn an attempt to encourage the students to study and excel in Odia language, the Naveen Government on Wednesday decided to provide scholarship to the meritorious students of the state securing 80% and above marks in Odia during +2 and +3 examinations. The scholarships would be named after legendary linguist of the state Vyas Kabi Fakir Mohan Senapati .

Another scholarship in the name of renowned Odia scientist Prana Krushna Parija was also announced for the meritorious students achieving 80% and above marks in +2 and +3 Arts, Science and Commerce stream from all colleges of the state.

The decision was taken at a review meeting on the performance of higher education department as well as the science and technology department at the state secretariat. The high-level meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in the presence of Higher Education and Science and Technical Education Minister Pradeep Panigrahi, Chief Secretary GC Pati and other senior officials of the Government.

The Chief Minister also directed the officials to set up a scholarship council to monitor all the scholarships provided by various departments of the government including higher education department, ST & SC department, school and mass education department, and technical education & training department.
