Govt seizes Maggi Noodles Packets in Bhubaneswar

In a raid on Thursday evening at various retail stores of different localities in Bhubaneswar, the officials of Supply department have sized a sizable number of Maggi noodles packets manufactured by Nestle.

The raids were conducted with the order of Khordha district collector Shri Niranjan Sahu, following the state government’s ban on Maggi noodles due to the presence of lead and monosodium glutamate (MSG) beyond the permissible limits.

Sub- collector Shri Binoy Das has appealed the general public to co-operate the government and inform the concerned department, if anybody finds the sale and purchase of Maggi noodles either in a retail outlet or wholesale dealer.

The Odisha government has banned the sale and purchase of Maggi noodles across the state since June 8, 2015.
