Govt to build Shrines at Three Daru Sites in Jagatsinghpur

Nabakalebara 2015 - Odisha Village turns into Pilgrimage SpotBhubaneswar, May 26: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration has decided to provide five lakh rupees to build shrines at the three places were the Darus (Neem Trees) were located for Nabakalebara 2015. As per the decision of the temple administration, shrines will be built in three locations – Kharipadia, Kanakpur and Adhangagada in Jagatsinghpur district.

The Darus of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra were found at these three locations, where now shrines will be built. This decision was taken in a meeting of the temple administration on Monday, said Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, chief administrator.

The administration said that shrine will not be built at Gadakuntunia, where Daru of Lord Sudarshana was found, since it’s located on a river embankment. Mahapatra said all four locations including Gadakuntunia, will be provided with a chariot wheel as a memento.

The owner of the plot, where Lord Jagannath’s daru was located, will be given around three lakh rupees for the loss sustained by him.
