In a barbaric incident, a group of miscreants on Tuesday chopped off both the hands of a youth at Raghavpalli village in Balangir district of Odisha, over past enmity between two rivalry groups of the village.
The victim, identified as Khirod Mishra, was first rushed to VSS Medical College and Hospital in Burla and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack when his condition deteriorated.
25 year old Khirod was attacked while he was going to the village pond to take bath. Armed with swords, the assailants brutally chopped up his arms and flee the spot.
Police on Wednesday arrested three persons– Gopinath Bhoi, Ajit Biswal and Lingaraj Gidela in this connection, and launched a massive manhunt to nab the other accused.
