Happy 73rd Birthday Bhubaneswar!

Bhubaneswar is celebrating its 73rd Foundation Day today. The celebrations, however, remained low-key with the COVID-19 infections rising by the day.

Odisha State Assembly Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro paid a floral tribute to the foundation stone of Bhubaneswar near Odisha Legislative Assembly.

Odisha is one of the four planned cities of Inida. Former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru had laid the foundation stone of the city on April 13, 1948.

Cuttack was initially the capital of Odisha. Bhubaneswar replaced it on 19 August 1949.
