Has Cyclone Fani Left The Smart City Smashed City ?

Cyclone Fani, the worst cyclone in twenty years which was category 4 left the city devastated and disfigured. The smart city which beamed of its lush green now seems scraped off by the impact of the horrific cyclone.
According to Sources from the government, 10lakh trees have been estimated to have been uprooted in the city. Not only trees but 10,000 electric poles were uprooted in the city too. Not leaving behind was Cuttack which equally faced the brunt of the cyclone. Asbestos roofs were seen flying on the horrific day, claimed people of the silver city. Also, electric Poles lie flat on the streets along with trees adding up to traffic immobility in the city.


Restoration work is being operated in full pace. At first priority, roads have been cleared off trees for traffic movement in Bhubaneswar.

The tropical cyclone caused havoc in 11 districts of Odisha. Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Khurda, Mayurbhanj and Puri were severely affected. Telecom network is completely down in Puri, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
The cyclone has left fear amongst people and normal life is thrown out of gear.
