HC Bench: Western Odisha Lawyers to stage stir at Jantar Mantar on Nov 28

Lawyers from various Western Odisha bar associations will stage protest rally at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on November 28 reiterating their demand for setting up of a High Court bench in the Western Odisha.

A 10-member delegation of lawyers will stage a dharna at Jantar Mantar where over 1000 lawyer of Western Odisha along with non-resident Odias staying in New Delhi will take part.

In 2013, the State Government had sent a proposal to the Centre for establishment of a permanent Hgh Court bench in the region.

Both the Centre and the State Government has accepted the demands of the Association but the Centre have not taken any step yet.
