HC cancels cooperative registrar’s notification

The High Court of Odisha has cancelled the notification over fresh voters list issued by the cooperative registrar for the scheduled Cooperative elections, while pronouncing verdict on a petition of Nadia Barai cooperative society, on Monday.

The registrar had issued for fresh list of voters on November 17,  for election, that is scheduled to be held on January 18 and 25 next year.

Biswanath Rath, a single bench judge, has ordered that valid voters during the notification of October 27 can only cast votes.

The bench has directed to cancel the notification over considering new voters list for the Cooperative election issued by the registrar.

The Cooperative election commissioner was asked by the court to conduct the polls removing the list of voters those were registered after October 27.
