Historic Bali Jatra to kick start from November 23

ONI Bureau:  The annual Bali Jatra festival will kick start from November 23 in the silver city of Odisha as per the guidelines set by the National Green Tribunal, informed Cuttack Collector Aravind Agrawal today. The fair will continue till November 29.

Bali Jatra is celebrated annually to mark the day when ancient Sadhabas would set sail to distant lands of Bali, Java, Sumatra, Borneo, and Sri Lanka for trade and cultural expansion.

Last year, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) have issued guidelines on waste management & cleanliness.

Large number of traders from the state and outside will set up their stalls at the Gadagadia Ghata of the Mahanadi River that spread over the 47 acres of land in the city.

There are several food stalls selling Cuttacki Dahivada Aludum, Thunka puri, Barafa pan, Gupchup, etc. from different parts of the state.
