I & PR Minister urges to use Social Media and Internet

Bhubaneswar, Sep 9: Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak said the district Information and Public Relations (I & PR) officers play vital role in making government projects successful. He was addressing a seminar of Information and Public Relations department. The seminar was attended by the district I&PR officers of Odisha at here on Wednesday.

The minister focused on the role of officers in disseminating information about the state government’s welfare police to the people. He urged the officers to create public awareness about government policies to make those successful. The Minister also urged on the use of social media and internet for the dissemination of information those would be effective for campaign.

I & PR Commissioner-cum- Secretary, Manoranjan Panigrahi stressed on the proper co-ordination of district and sub-divisional offices for the effective functioning of the department. Director of I &PR, Susil Kumar Das said that there was need for the modernization of the information centers and libraries of the department. He also stressed on the proper use of store pictures and videos at these centres. The fund meant for the treatment of working journalists in Odisha should be properly utilized, he said. Many officers of the department attended the seminar.
