Identify new Industrial Clusters for Development: Chief Secretary

G C Pati -Chief SecretaryBhubaneswar, Oct 16: Development of industrial clusters in the State has been first tracked with Chief Secretary Sri Gokul Chandra Pati reviewing the progress in a high level meeting held in the secretariat conference hall on Friday wherein Principal secretary Industry Sri Sanjeeb Chopra presented the updates and outlined issues for discussion. The Road Map and timelines have been worked out for each cluster in the meeting.

Chief Secretary has advised Industry department to identify new clusters for development of downstream industries along Paradeep express high way from Kalinganagar to Paradeep and along the railway line to Dhamara. The departments of Revenue & Disaster Management and Industry have been asked to work out a system for making the land owner a stakeholder in the cluster on long term lease, annual rent, land pulling methods etc. for faster development of the newly coming up clusters. The department has also been advised to expedite the process of identifying the anchor investor for each cluster.

The industrial clusters like Aluminum Park at Angul, Plastic Park at Paradeep, Sea Food Park at Deras, Electronics park at Info-Valley, Bhubaneswar, Textile & rice Park at Bhadrak, Petro Chemical cluster at Paradeep, National Investment & Manufacturing Zone at Kalinganagar were reviewed in the meeting. The administrative matters relating to the implementation of IPR, 2015, functioning of State facilitation Center,  District Facilitation Center etc were discussed and resolved in the meeting.

Principal Secretary Revenue & Disaster Management Dr Mona Sharma, Principal Secretary Water Resources Sri Pradeep Kumar Jena, Secretary MS&ME Sri Panchanana Das, Labour Commissioner Smt Salini Pandit along with other senior officers from respective departments participated in discussions.
