IMD issues Cyclone alert for Odisha, Andhra Pradesh

ONI Bureau:  The India Meteorological Department on Monday issued cyclone alert for Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.

Low pressure developing over the Bay of Bengal is expected to intensify into Deep Depression in next 24 hours and further likely to deepen into a cyclone in 48 hours, IMD forecast today.

Heavy rains to lash Odisha on October 10 & 11. South & Coastal Odisha to start experiencing rains and high speed wind (70-80km per hour) from tomorrow afternoon.

Under the influence of the depression, there will be heavy rainfall may occur in Andhra Pradesh  and several parts of Odisha including Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Khurda, Cuttack, Bhadrak, Balasore and Mayurbhanj between October 11 and 13.

Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea during the next 24 hours.

Odisha Govt gears up to face Cyclone Titli, every district collectors have been directed to stay alert and not to give holidays to any employee of the SRC and OSDMA, informs Deputy Relief Commissioner Pravat Ranjan Mohapatra.
