Immersion ceremony of Goddess Durga to ‘Go Green’ this year in Odisha

ONI Bureau:  After six-day-long Durga Puja celebration, the idol immersion (Visarjan) ceremony of Maa Durga idols started in the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar on Saturday.

The Twin City Police has geared up for the smooth conduct of the immersion ceremony of the idols today evening.

As per report, Durga idols from different parts of the city will gather at Saheed Nagar, Nayapalli and Chandrasekharpur puja committee venues. Later they will march towards immersion procession.

Three immersion routes have been finalized connecting Bhubaneswar to Cuttack with adequate deployment of police forces as DCP Anup Sahoo iformed earlier.

BMC Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena said to newsmen that four artificial ponds have been set up, two temporary ponds near Kuakhai river, one each at Daya river and Pandra to prevent water pollution.
