INA Trust to observe Hukumat Divas on Nov 20 This Year

Bhubaneswar, Oct 28: This year’s Hukumat Divas will be observed on November 20 at Ravenshaw Collegiate School in Cuttack. Hukumat Day is being observed every year on October 21 to commemorate Netaji’s clarion call ‘Delhi Chalo’ at Singapore on October 21, 1943.

In order to seek permission to observe this event on November 20, as following holidays it was not observed on October 21, a delegation of INA Trust, Odisha Branch called on the Governor of Odisha  on Tuesday.

Mamakhya Prasad Singh Deo, trust chairman and former minister, led the delegation and met Governor S C Jamir at Raj Bhawan. They took permission from Jamir to observe the day on November 20 at college premises in Cuttack.

The Governor gave his consent to observer the event and also agreed to grace the occasion as chief guest. Organizing committee chairman Binod Dash, social activists Kunja Bihari Das, Laxmi Narayan Agrawal, Paresh Mishra and Ashok Tripathy were among others present in the delegation.
