India test fires AAD interceptor Missile from ITR at Chandipur

India on Saturday successfully test fired its homegrown Advanced Air Defence (AAD) interceptor missile from launch pad-III of the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur in Odisha coast.

Reportedly the missile was test-fired at 7.45 am today.

Developed by DRDO, the 7.5-metre tall interceptor is a single stage solid rocket propelled guided missile equipped with an inertial navigation system that has the capacity to destroy a missile in the endo-atmospheric region at a low altitude of less than 30 km.
