Indian Oil donates Rs 2 crore to LV Prasad Eye Institute

Indian-Oil-LV-PrasadIn a significant development, the Indian Oil Corporation has offered an assistance of Rs 2 crore to the LV Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) as corporate social responsibility (CSR) contribution. The funds will be uitilised for setting up of an ‘Indian Oil-LVPEI Centre for Rural Eye Health’.

The new health facility will provide solutions to blindness in rural areas of Odisha. Union Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas, Dharmendra Pradhan handed over the the letter of approval of the donation to LVPEI Vice-Chairman Tara Prasad Das in the presence of Indian Oil top officials.

The Rs 2 crore fund donated by the Indian Oil, would be used for developing infrastructures like building, library and vision complex. According to Tara Prasad Das, three rural eye-care facilities will be set up in Odisha in the first phase. The locations have been identified as Rayagada, Rajgangpur (Sundargarh) and Angul. The Angul unit will be supported by the National Aluminium Company Limited (Nalco).
