Infant Deaths: DMET submits report to Odisha Health Department

Bhubaneswar, Sep 7: The fact-finding committee headed by Director of Medical Education and Training (DMET) Prof Prakash Chandra Mohapatra today handed over  a report on the death of infants at Sishu Bhawan to Odisha Health Department.

The state government had formed a committee too investigation into the death of infants at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Post Graduate Institute of Pediatrics popularly known as Sishu Bhawan in Cuttack. The committee was asked to submit report within 10 days.

Following death of as many as 62 infants, the Odisha Government suspended 2 Nurses and 3 Attendants and deployed 7 Senior Resident Doctors at the pediatric centre in Cuttack.
