Investment Projects in Odisha First Tracked

New CS Aditya Padhi  (2)Bhubaneswar, Dec 20: Cabinet Committee Investment ( CCI ) projects have been first tracked in Odisha. Most of the issues relating to land acquisition and forest diversion have been resolved and the projects are now getting grounded.

This has been known from the review of CCI Project Monitoring Group Committee held under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Sri Aditya Parsad Padhi in secretariat conference hall on Saturday.

Replying to a media query after the meeting, Chief Secretary Sri Padhi told that around 30 number of projects in National High Way, Railways, coal and power were reviewed and the problems flagged by project proponents were addressed. The new issues would be resolved as and when they crop up in the process of implementation.

The Cabinet Committee Project Monitoring group was led by Sri Arun Goel, Additional Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat along with the Joint secretary Sri V.P. Joy. Sri Goel mentioned to the media that there has been remarkable progress in the implementation of CCI projects in Odisha and this exercise has yielded very positive results.

A total number of 30 projects were reviewed in two sessions held during the forenoon and afternoon hours. The major projects in the review were Sambalpur- Titilagarh Railway, Jharsuguda-Baripada-Subdega Railway, Angul-Jharsuguda Railway, Bhubaneswar-Puri toll road, 6-laning of Bhubaneswar-Chandikhol N.H., Development of Remuli-Raxi-Rajamunda NH, 2-laning of Nuapada-Gopamunda NH, Chandikhol-Duburi-Talcher NH, 4-laning of Angul-Sambalpur NH, Cuttack-Angul NH, Biramitrapur-Barkot high way, Panikoili-Rimuli NH, laying of IOCL LPG pipe line from Paradeep to Haldia, Paradeep-Raipur-Ranchi pipe line, coal blocks of MCL, NALCO, power projects of Nagpatnam NSL, Visa Power, KVK Nilachal, Lanco Babandh, PGCIL, power transmission line Angul-Jharsuguda and from Angul- Sirkakulam.

The projects included in Pragati programme such as Adhara Enrollment, Mobile Connectivity in remote areas etc. were also reviewed in the meeting. Chief Secretary Sri Padhi requested the Cabinet Committee PMG to expedite the forest clearance proposals of OMC as many of the industries in the State depend on OMC for raw material linkage.

IOCL was also requested to allow more LPG connections for Odisha particularly for rural pockets. The Development Commissioner Sri R. Balakrishnan, Principal Secretaries of Steel & Mines Sri R.K. Sharma, Forest & Environment Sri S.C. Mohapatra, Revenue & Disaster Management Dr Mona Sharma, Water Resources Sri P.K. Jena, Power Sri Rajesh Verma, Industry Sri Sanjeeb Chopra, Secretaries of concerned departments along with senior officers from various departments and the project proponents participated in the review. Principal Secretary In-charge of CCI Projects Sri Pradeep Kumar Jena presented the updates and outlined the issues for discussion.
