IPS Officer Arun Bothra Among ’21Heroes2021′

IPS officer and Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) MD Arun Bothra has been named in the ’21Heroes2021′ published by the Transformative Urban Mobility Initiative, a leading global implementation initiative on sustainable mobility. He is among two Indian to find a mention.

“Under Arun’s leadership, the public transport sector in Odisha has seen bold changes through the fulfilment of commuter-friendly measures like digital transactions, limitations within buses to sitting-only passengers and the enforcement of a stringent COVID-19 prevention strategy,” the publication read.

“On buses, Arun enforced mask-wearing, regularly disinfection and social distancing, thus easing the population’s fear of riding public transportation again.”

Soumini Jain, former Mayor of Cochin Corporation Bank in Kochi is the other winner from India. The other winners include Elon Musk, SpaceX-Founder and CEO of Tesla.

IPS officer Arun Bothra credited the CRUT team for the success.
