Itishree Pradhan Murder Convict Dies While Serving Life Sentence

Netrananda Dandasena, the accused in Itishree Pradhan murder died while undergoing treatment at the Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital. A school teacher, he was serving life sentence in the sensational teacher Itishree Pradhan murder case.

Netrananda complained of uneasiness last night and was admitted to the hospital. He was declared dead on Monday morning.

Itishree Pradhan was posted as a school teacher in Tikri village under Kashipur block in Odisha’s Rayagada district. In 2013, she had filed an FIR stating she was being continuously harassed by Dandasena.

After the local authorities failed to take action, she was asked to withdraw FIR. On October 27, 2013, some miscreants entered her room and set her ablaze after pouring kerosene.

Itishree Pradhan was referred to a private hospital in Vishakhapatnam, where she died while indergoing treatment in November 2013. In 2016, the Rayagada District and Sessions Court held Netrananda Dandasena guilty in the murder case.
