Jagannath Sena protests decision to open ‘Ratna Bhandara’ of Srimandir

ONI Bureau:  The Jagannath Sena activists on Thursday staged protest against SJTA’s decision to open the ‘Ratna Bhandara’ of Srimandir for inspection by Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).

As per report, the newly reconstituted temple managing committee of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) in its first meeting on Wednesday decided to open the ‘Ratna Bhandara’ to assess its structural condition.

The Ratna Bhandara will be opened after a gap of nearly 34 years. Earlier it was opened last time in 1984.

As per recent notification, ASI will examine status of Ratna Bhandara on March 26 & 27 following directions from Orissa High Court.
