Japanese Encephalitis claims 82 lives in Malkangiri

The death toll due to the outbreak of Japanese Encephalitis (JE) disease has reached to 82 in last 54 days in Malkangiri district of Odisha.

Though the district administration has taken all possible measures to tackle the outbreak, the situation has not improved as per the expectation, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Nruparaj Sahoo said.

Japanese Encephalitis Virus (JEV) has now found in Koraput district as well. JE claimed the life of one more child in Koraput district on Tuesday. With this the disease reached to 11 in Koraput district.
