JMM Bandh: Normal life cripples in Mayurbhanj District

Cuttack-BandhBaripada, Sep 23: Normal life in crippled in Mayurbhanj district today due to 12-hour bandh called by Jharkahnd Mukti Morcha (JMM) opposing closure of Urban Co-operative Bank in Baripada. The state government has closed the bank following directive from RBI. Many passengers were stranded at various places in the district as vehicles were not allowed to ply.

Many organizations in the district supported the bandh. Shops, commercial establishments, educational institutions, offices and private organizations were remained closed during the 12 hours band by JMM. The party demanded to re-open the bank and refund the money of the depositors.

The bandh also affected rail communication in the district as party members’ halted train in some places.  However, the district administration was full preparation for the bandh to control annoying situations. Police personnel were deployed at sensitive places in the district.
