Jumbo attacks in Odisha; One killed, another injured

elephant population in OdishaBhubaneswar, Jan 2: One killed and another injured in two separate incidents of jumbo attacks in Odisha’s Cuttack district on Friday.

Two incidents of jumbo attack on Friday were reported from Cuttack district in which one farmer was trampled to death while another was sustained serious injuries and battling for life at hospital.

As per reports, at Badasamantarapur village in the district, a farmer was trampled to death by an elephant while he was returning home from crop field. The deceased was identified as Pramod Khatua.

In another incident in the same block – Choudwar-Tangi on Friday, a villager of Santanibati was sustained serious injuries in jumbo attack. He was admitted to to SCB Medical College and Hospital, his condition said to be critical.

Villagers have demanded the state government for the compensation to the family members of deceased farmers and treatment expenses for the injured person in the jumbo attack in the district.
