JBM holds Dharna, seeks inclusion of Jeypore in AMRUT Yojana
The Jeypore Bikash Manch (JBM) is holding a dharna from 9 AM till 5 PM, seeking inclusion of Jeypore in AMRUT (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation) Yojana and also setting up of the RDC (Revenue Divisional Commissioner) office in the town.
Hundreds of common people in Jeypore joined the dharna, seeking immediate intervention of the centre as well as state government. Even, rivals Taraprasad Bahinipati (Congress MLA from Jeypore) and BJP stalwart Bhrugu Baxipatra, joined hands for the common cause and shared the dais. Former Odisha Minister and BJD leader Rabi Narayan Nanda, along with Senior Advocate Bishnu Patra, also visited the spot to extend his support towards the agitation. The Jeypore Bikash Manch (JBM) has been spearheading this movement for the last few months. They had even submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik during his visit to Jeypore on August 31.
Among others, President Upendra Nath Mishra, Vice Presidents Uma Maheswar Patnaik and SV Ravana, General Secretary Manmohan Rout, Assistant Secretary Nabakrushna Rath and Joint Secretary and Councilor Arati Mishra are leading the Public Agitation.
