Khorda, Puri Districts in Odisha to witness Loadshedding

No Power Cut in OdishaBhubaneswar, May 25: Odisha government announced one-hour loadshedding in Khorda and Puri districts from today due to supply shortage. There will be loadshedding in Bhubaneswar and Nimapara in phase-wise for around 30 minutes to one hour everyday.

The Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Ltd said that in these two districts – Khorda and Puri, there would power cuts between 30 minutes to one hour in phase-wise manner due to shortage of power supply to the state.

Officials said that Bhubaneswar requires 250-3015 MW of power daily and loadshedding is inevitable to maintain the supply. On Saturday, two extra high tension towers were damaged that caused power supply disruption from Narendrapur to Khordha and Mendhasala. The officials have been engaged in restoring work of these two towers and expected to be completed by May 30. The damage of two towers caused short supply of 50-60 MW to the capital, Grid Corporation of Odisha officials claimed.
