Mr. Achyuta Samanta, the founder of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT University) and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), has come forward to help the quake-hit people in Nepal by donating Rs 10 lakh as assistance.
Achyuta Samanta also offered moral support to around 100 students of Nepali origin, who are studying in KIIT, as they left for their homeland to help in relief and rehabilitation operations. Janaki Murmu, a student of KISS was part of the U-14 Indian Girls’ Football team that got stuck in Nepal during the earthquake, but she returned safely along with other members.
Achyuta Samanta has been planning to expand his education empire to Nepal for some time now. He is reportedly in the process of setting up a campus of KISS in Kathmandu. He may visit Nepal later to take this discussion forward once things return to normalcy there.
