Konark Police takes Abhijit Iyer Mitra on 4-Day remand

ONI Bureau:  The Court of the Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) today granted Konark Police to take Abhijit Iyer Mitra on a four-day remand for interrogation.

Earlier on Tuesday, Konark and Nimapara police have sought for a 7-day remand of Abhijit Iyer for further interrogation.

Mitra was on Tuesday arrested by the Commissionerate Police for his alleged derogatory remarks against the Sun Temple Konark and Odisha culture.

Following his arrest, Abhijit Iyer was produced before the Bhubaneswar SDJM court. He was sent to 14-day judicial custody after denial of his bail.

Reportedly, Saheed nagar police asked the Twitter to provide details of Abhijit Iyer Mitra’s account, phone number and mail ID to know what all he posted and when in the social networking site.
