Kunduli Gangrape: Judicial Probe to cover Causes of Suicide

ONI Bureau: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has directed to expand the Terms of Reference (ToR) for judicial probe into the Kunduli Gangrape case so that it includes the circumstances and causes that led to the minor girl’s suicide.

After the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) ordered a high level probe into the Kunduli incident, the state government has swung into action. First, the Crime Branch sent the samples to Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), Kolkata for re-examination.

Later, CM Naveen Patnaik made sure that the judicial probe ordered by him on November 8, 2017, also covers the recent suicide of the victim.
