Landslide Death: BJP calls Jharigaon Bandh today

The Bharatiya Janata Party called Jharigaon Bandh today morning demanding compensation to families of three persons who had died due to landslide in Barandipara village.

BJP activists demanded Rs 5 lakh as compensation and a house under the Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana to the family of each deceased.

Notably, three persons of a family were killed in a land slide in Barandipara village under Jharigaon block of Nabarangpur district on Friday. The incident occurred when they were collecting red soil near the village.

In this connection, BJP members blocked roads at Jharigaon police station and petrol pump. Markets and shops in the city remain closed. Vehicular movements came to standstill and silent for the bandh.
