Lanjigarh, Sep 2: Opposing the shutdown of Vedanta’s Lanjigarh Plant, villagers here called for one-day strike on September 3. They have been demanding the Odisha government to provide sufficient bauxite to the plant, which is said to be the main reason for the closure of operations of the plant.
They reportedly met Chief Minister and respective officials and requested to take necessary actions over the issue. Binod Goud, Sridhar Pesnia,Chandra Pesnia, Subash Agrawal and Rajendra Mali would lead the strike at the block level. They said that during the strike the emergency services only would be operative and they urged people to support their strike.
