Lawyer-Police Scuffle in Cuttack: 3 Police Officials suspended for misconduct

ONI Bureau:  A day after lawyer gheraoed the police station protesting against the thrashing of a lawyer in Cuttack, Cuttack DCP Akhilesvar Singh today informed to media that three Police Officials have been placed under suspension for misconduct.

Reportedly, three police officials including Constables DK Samal, OAPF Constable UK Bhuyan and Havildar PK Behera were suspended for Police Excess. Another Home Guard Kishor Jena has sought an explanation as to why no action will be taken against him.

Earlier on Wednesday, Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty had ordered Crime DCP to conduct enquiry into the matter.

A police vehicle was set on fire by the angered lawyers yesterday again assault of lawyer Debi Prasanna Pattnaik by the police officials at Shastrinagar in Nuabazar on Tuesday afternoon.
