Lawyers split; BJD Legal Front withdraws from ongoing agitation

ONI Bureau:  BJD legal front on Saturday withdrew support from ongoing lawyers’ cease-work agitation. They will attend court proceedings from October 29 or October 30, informed BJD legal front convenor Milan Kanungo.

Reportedly, the Orissa High Court Bar Association vice president Bansidhar Satpathy also resigned from his post.

BJD legal front lawyers have taken the step when the agitated lawyers decided to burn an effigy of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in front of 164 Bar associations across Odisha on October 31.

It is noteworthy that lawyers across Odisha have boycotted court proceedings and staging protest for the last 60 days. As a result, people are facing numerous problems across the state.
