Renowned writer from Odisha, Padma Shri Manoj Das passed away on Tuesday at a nursing home in Puducherry. He was 87.
Manoj Das had been hospitalized for almost a year and was undergoing treatment for cancer.
His stories in English and Hindi have been widely loved by the audience and he is regarded one of the best storytellers in the country.
He is a recipient of the Padma Shri award, Sahitya Academy award, Sarala Award and many others. He was conferred with the Padma Bhusan last year.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik condoled his death.
