The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has announced the identification of Daru (log/wood) of Lord Balabhadra at Kanakpur in Tirtol block of Jagatsinghpur district. The Daru was found near the Jhankad Sarala Peetha.
SJTA Chief Suresh Mohapatra has confirmed the news. He along with Tourism & Culture Secretary Arabinda Padhee visited the place and reviewed all preparations. The police is putting barricades around the place to secure the site. The Daitapati is already on the site, whileBanajaga Yatra members will reach the spot by Sunday.
Earlier, Lord Sudarshan’s Daru was identified at Gada Kantunia near Balakati on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. All rituals will be completed today and the tree will be cut into pieces to be taken to Puri. The darus of Lord Jagananth and Devi Subhadra will be announced soon.
