Lulu Mohapatra cremated, Daughter Upasna lits Funeral Pyre

The last rites of senior Congress leader Lalatendu (Lulu) Bidyadhar Mohapatra was performed at the cremation ground of Gadarodanga under Brahmagiri block in Puri district on Tuesday night by 11 pm.

Lulu Mohapatra’s  daughter Upasana lit the funeral pyre. The only child of Mohapatra, Upasana seems as the heir to the legacy of Mohapatra.

She was active during the 2014 election campaign. Recently she is perusing her study in Mumbai.

Notably, the body of veteran leader Lulu Mohapatra was brought to Bhubaneswar last evening. It was taken to the State Assembly and Congress Bhavan on Tuesday morning.

He was given full state honours at the State Assembly to which he was elected for three consecutive terms.  Later, he has taken to his native place at Gadarodanga where the last rites conducted.

While ‘Lulu Bhai Amar Rahe’ reverberated in the air before the funeral pyre was lit.
