Major OT inaugurated at Institute of Dental Sciences

A major Operation Theatre was opened at the Institute of Dental Sciences (IDS), run under the SOA University in Bhubaneswar, coinciding with the annual function organized by the institute’s students on Wednesday. The new OT will now facilitate conduct of critical dental surgeries, IDS sources said.

Mr. Sibabrata Das, Director, Elementary, School and Mass Education, who attended as chief guest at ‘Vibgyor-2015’, the annual extravaganza, urged the students to focus on the greater good of the society. “Attitude is the key to success. Never make money central to your efforts,” he implored the students.

Stating that writers, doctors, teachers and farmers were the cornerstones that sustained the society, Mr. Das urged the students to serve the people with dedication. Prof. (Dr.) Amit Banerjee, Vice-Chancellor of the SOA University, presided over the function. Dr. P.K.Mohanty, Medical Superintendent of Institute of Medical Sciences and Sum Hospital and Dr. Neeta Mohanty, Dean of IDS also spoke. The function was also attended by Mr. Gopabandhu Kar, Managing Member of SOA University and Prof. (Dr.) D.K.Ray, Medical Director of IMS and Sum Hospital. Prizes were distributed among students who participated in different competitions.
