Maoists kill Naib Sarpanch suspecting Police Informer in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Nov 24: Maoists killed a Sarpanch suspecting him as police informer in Odisha’s Balangir district on Monday night. As per reports, the deceased was identified as Alekh Majhi, Sarpanch of Naib of Bagdo Gram Panchayat under Belapada block in the Balangir district.

Villagers said that around 10 Maoists visited to his residence on Monday night and taken him to a remote place near Belapada village where he was shot dead. They killed him suspecting as police informer, they added.

Police rushed to the spot, sent the body for postmortem and started investigation. Police told media that some posters were recovered from the site where Majhi was killed.
