Maoists set a Bus on fire on Malkangiri-Chhattisgarh Border

Maoists-Bust-TorchMalkangiri, Oct 30: A bus was set on fire by Maoists on Malkangiri-Chhattisgarh border on Friday morning. However, no one injured in the incidents, as red cadres asked all passengers to get down.

As per reports, a group of Maoists intercepted a private bus at Gopalpatnam areas located along Malkangiri and Chhattisgarh borders in Bijapur district. They entered into the bus and asked all passengers to get down from the vehicle. After that they set the bus on fire. After the incident the rebel fled the area. Security personnel rushed to the spot and started combing operation against Maoists.

Notably, the insurgency activities of Maoists in the district and along border areas have been rising of late. Recently, the red rebels torched a truck along the border. They intensified their activities following spree of surrendering by Maoists supporters in the district last month. The security forces have also intensified their combing operation after busting a weapons factory in the district last month.
