Maoists set afire Contractor Camp, kill one in Koraput Dist

A group of Maoists on Friday night set afire Contractor’s Camp and killed one contractor supervisor at Pottangi area in Koraput District, Odisha.

The deceased has been identified as Jayaram , local from Bhitarakata village.

The Maoists also torched several vehicles, including hiwa trucks, Hitachi machine, a tractor and a tipper.

According to reports, around 40 armed Maoists, including 5 women cadres, were part of the attack. Reportedly, they opposed the construction of road to Bhitarakota village last evening.

However, the contractor Jayaram supported the construction of road following which the Maoists killed him.
