Mercury Level rises to 40.1 degrees C in Bhubaneswar

Heat-WaveThe temperature in Bhubaneswar, rose to 40.1 degrees C on Saturday, the second highest in the state. Angul recorded the highest temperature at 40.7 degrees C, while Talcher recorded 40 degrees Celsius. Several parts of the state are reeling under intense heatwave.

The mercury level will go up further in the coming weeks, as per the Met department. The last week brought a lot of relief to the people in Odisha, as rains and hailstorm were reported from most parts. However, temperature has started to rise again from April 17.

The Odisha Government has already announced morning classes in schools across the state from April 1. Several health related guidelines have been issues to deal with heatwave and beat sunstroke.
