Minakshi Behera elected as Mayor of Cuttack Municipal Corporation

Cuttack, Jan 23: Minakshi Behera, BJD corporator from ward number 45, has been elected as the Mayor of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC). She was the lone candidate to file nomination papers for the post on Friday. She was elected unopposed.

Soon after the election and declaration of the results, Behera assumed the office as the Mayor of CMC. She extended her greeting to BJD Chief Naveen Patnaik and thanked three MLAs of Cuttack for their support.

The post of Mayor fell vacant after Anita Behera, corporator from ward number  21, resigned from the post after her name was found the list of NFSA beneficiaries.
