Minister inagurates Tussar Silk Seeds Production Unit in MayurbhanjBhubaneswar, Sept 10: Textiles & Handicrafts Minister of Odisha Snehangini Chhuria inaugurated a tussar silk seed production unit at Chandua village in Mayurbhanj district on Wednesday. The unit was construction with an outlay of Rs.1 crore and around 600 farmers would be benefited. The unit will provide tussar seeds to farmers at a cheap cost.

While inaugurating, Tussar Farmers Fair, the minister said that five more tussar seed production units would be constructed across Odisha to promote silk production in Odisha. Speaking on the occasion, Chhuria said that the state government has been framing various programmes  for the welfare of silk farmers in Odisha. The minister said that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has offered special package to carry out various development works and to safeguard interest of farmers. She added many farmers would be benefited from the special package. She urged farmers to boost silk production.

Sports Minister of Odisha Sudam Marndi graced the occasion as Guest of Honour. Speaking on the occasion, Marndi assured that the state government would provide all sorts of benefits to the silk farmers and safeguard their interest. On the occasion, three farmers were felicitated by the ministers followed by the distribution of utility kits.
